adidas Skateboarding expands its creators event series The Showcase, making various stops around the world including Los Angeles, New York City, Tokyo, São Paulo and additional cities across Europe. The Showcase, which started in New York City 2016, is a community-driven group exhibition and cultural gathering designed to provide a creative platform to showcase works from rising artists and talent in skateboarding culture.
adidas Skateboarding has hosted several of these flourishing ‘art meets skate’ showcases in New York City over the past year while working with the local art and skate community. Making each city its muse, The Showcase is curated by the community and encompasses the best up-and-coming talents while offering a unique experience and authentic representation of the people and the city.
The Showcase video features commentary from artists and skateboarders who have attended and participated in the event series in New York City including Gnarmads, Quim Cardona, AJ Rodriguez, Ray Riggio, Trihumph, Maximilian Mueller, Chris Miller, Ryan Zimmerman, Darnell Scott, Ricardo Napoli, J-Hon, Pat Hoblin, and Chris Britton. The Showcase has grown and attracted high-energy crowds and excitement from the community, which can be seen in this new video from the three-stripes brand.
Happening this week on January 19, the all ages event series will take place in New York City and will feature artwork from local artists Alex Fogt, Rick Sulz, Dylan Goldberger, Cole Giordano and many more. The event will be hosted by Dave De La Cruz and Fernando Soares. Music will be provided by Hongry and DJ B.
With the anticipated expansion of The Showcase, adidas Skateboarding looks to achieve the same authenticity and true representation of the local creative community across the globe. The brand aims to grow the creative locales and support their leading talents.
