A new bar is set for the Huntington Beach surfing community. With its official launch in August, Quivers, a member-based surfboard demo center, is tantalizing the fantasies most surfers once only dreamed of – the access to any surfboard for any wave break no matter the conditions. Under the ownership of two HB local surfers, Steve Connolly and Roland Verdugo, Quivers seeks to offer the ultimate surfboard line-up and educate the community on having the right board and equipment for the dynamic SoCal swells.
Starting at $99 a month, each member will have access to over 100 boards from brands like Lost, Surf Prescriptions, Stamps, T Patterson, Corrozza, HTLT, Hayden Shapes, Maurice Cole, Estrada, Cordell, Vartanian, Bettis and Thread Design with more to come. Members can checkout any board offered at the shop for up to four days, with an unlimited amount of board exchanges through the duration of membership. For instance, a member would have the opportunity to demo a “Bushwackin Thang”, a single fin, bonzer by Surf Prescriptions, a couple of days later exchange it for a large keel, twin fin from Estrada, then go for the Lost “Bean Bag”, and maybe play around on a longboard by Bettis after that, because why not? Quivers provides surfers the ability to try out those “that looks like fun” boards found in the surf shops without the price tag that goes along with it.

Membership rates are on a per month basis and discounted rates are available for extended monthly memberships beyond the first month. Quivers also offers its members the opportunity to purchase insurance for an additional $50 per month to cover any damage that may occur. In an effort to further protect members, the demo center will provide a Rareform board bag with each board checkout to prevent in-transit dings and minimize damage from the sun.
Quivers will also have available for purchase Dakine traction pads and leashes, Futures and FCS fins, Rareform board bags, Sex Wax surfing wax and apparel items from local shapers.
