Vancouver, July 28, 2015 – SAXX Underwear Co. is thrilled to announce its membership in The Conservation Alliance, a group of outdoor companies committed to funding and partnering with organizations to protect wild places for their habitat and recreation values.
“The SAXX story was born on a fishing trip in Alaska by our founder Trent Kitsch. We now want to take the next step, as a young brand and commit to helping protect wild places,” said SAXX Underwear CEO Tim Bartels. “Now as a member of The Conservation Alliance, we’re proud to do our part in helping fund local grassroots organizations and support protecting millions of acres and waterways across North America.”
As a group of outdoor industry companies, The Conservation Alliance recognizes its responsibility to help protect the wild lands and waterways on which its customers recreate and wildlife thrives. To achieve that goal, The Conservation Alliance makes grants to nonprofit organizations working to protect the special wild lands and waters in their backyards.
“We’re pumped to join some 200 other companies to contribute to the Alliance’s $1.65 million annual grant funding goal, which at the end of the day, will directly fund some of the most effective and compelling conservation projects in North America. These include grants this past year to the Canadian Parks and Wilderness and the Sierra Club BC in our own backyard of beautiful British Columbia,” said Bartels.
The Alliance commits 100-percent of members’ annual dues directly to conservation groups. Last year, the organization contributed an all-time high $1.55 million to 45 conservation groups working to protect and restore North America’s wild places.
