Laguna Hills, CA (1/6/14) – Freewaters, official footwear brand of The Endless Summer 50th anniversary, is stoked to announce their sponsorship of The Endless Summer 50th Anniversary cocktail reception at this January’s Surf Expo. The 50th anniversary celebration begins the first evening of the show, in the convention center Chapin Theatre, Thursday January 9th, with cocktail party at 6pm, followed by a screening of Bruce Brown’s iconic movie The Endless Summer.
“This is the first time that Bruce, Robert and Mike have been together on the East Coast in fifty years,” notes Freewaters ambassador Wingnut, who starred in the sequel The Endless Summer II. “It will be amazing to have these three legends together again and to see this thing come full circle fifty years later.”
A 60’s cult classic that every surfer dreams to relive, The Endless Summer documents an epic journey of two California surfers, Mike Hynson and Robert August, who hit the open road to follow summer weather and surf around the world through Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Hawaii and California.
