Signs of stability in retail sales and port volume data

Have we reached a bottom in the global economic downturn?

A few signs indicate the answer is "maybe." Signs of stability show up in five different data sets that track leading and lagging economic conditions in the U.S. and Canada. Each of them is flat or slightly up on a month-month basis - but still far below prior year comps.
