Steve Murray heads to Deckers

The job Steve Murray is leaving Urban Outfitters for is revealed. Deckers owns the Ugg Australia brand.

Steve Murray is leaving Urban Outfitters for Deckers Corporation, which owns several brands including the popular Ugg Australia.

Steve’s new title is President of Europe, Middle East and Africa. He starts June 1 and will be based out the company’s Richmond, England offices.

Deckers CEO Angel Martinez said in a press release that the company has been looking for the right person to fill that job for a long time.

“In Steve Murray we have found the unique combination of footwear and lifestyle brand building and global expertise that we need at a time when our international business is poised for growth unlike anything we’ve seen in the past,” Martinez said.

Steve will be in charge of Deckers’ subsidiary and distributor business for Ugg Australia, Teva, Tsubo and Simple Shoes brands.

Prior to his role as Global President of the Urban Outfitters brand, Steve was President of VF’s Action Sports Coalition, and before that, served as President of Vans.
