Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) to Host Fifth Annual
Skate the Coast Presented by Sun Bum on Saturday, Oct. 29
18-Mile Longboard-a-thon from Santa Monica Pier to South Redondo Beach Promotes Healthy, Active Lifestyle in Support of Breast Cancer Prevention
What: Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) will host the Fifth Annual Skate the Coast presented by Sun Bum, an 18-mile longboard-a-thon event that will start at Santa Monica Pier and end at Redondo Beach Riviera Plaza as part of the Be Healthy. Get Active. Ride! initiative to promote participation in board sports and a positive approach to living a healthy, active lifestyle.
Pre-register: Pre-register online at www.active.com/cycling/Santa-Monica-ca/skate-the-coast-2011 to participate in Saturday’s Skate the Coast event and fundraise for your efforts. Top fundraisers to win prizes from event partners.
Registration Party Details:
What: Register at this celebratory kick-off event and meet fellow riders at one of the raddest shops on the Westside with raffles, music, food and more.
When: Friday, Oct. 28, 2011 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Where: ZJ Boarding House (2619 Main Street, Santa Monica, Calif. 90405)
Participation Fee: $25 per person – includes sponsor goodie bag, event t-shirt and free meals

Please note: All participants are required to sign waivers and wear a helmet. If you are under 18, you must have signatures from a parent or legal guardian.
Skate the Coast
When: Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011
8 a.m. Meet at Veterans Park near the Redondo Beach Pier
8:45 – 10 a.m. Shuttles transport riders to Santa Monica Pier
11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Skate 18 miles along the scenic LA County Coastline.
Hydration Stations powered by Clif Bar and Mizu.
3 p.m. – 7 p.m. Wahoo’s Grand Opening and B4BC Post-Skate Fundraiser Party at
Redondo Beach Riviera Plaza (1767 S. Elena, Redondo Beach, Calif. 90277)
* Free tacos to the first 200 people at Wahoo’s!
Additional Details:
To celebrate the feat of skating 18 miles, there will be a post-party bash with bands, including Spare Parts for Broken Hearts and Seedless, top fundraiser and spirit awards, raffles throughout the afternoon and local supporters from the industry/media.
