California Surf Museum 5th Annual Gala Fundraiser June 9th

With summertime and south swells just around the corner, a HUGE groundswell of enthusiasm is beginning to rise as the California Surf Museum prepares to launch their 5th Annual Gala Fundraiser Saturday, June 9th.

Whether you’re a hard-core wave rider or just enjoy dipping your toes in that refreshing Pacific Ocean, a splendid time is guaranteed for one and all. As you walk through the entrance, you’ll swear that you’ve arrived in the tropics as the soothing refrains of Island-style music by Tropical Breeze with live hula instantly soothe your spirit with the welcoming sounds of Aloha.

Your nose and taste buds will be enticed next with the savory aromas of the gourmet bounty of eats that await you from the creative menus of 333 Pacific, Beach Break Cafe and Pedro’s Tacos.

Polish off your exquisite repast with scrumptious desserts from Petite Madeline Bakery & Patisserie and Nagata Brothers Farms. Refresh and quench your thirst with the stellar choices of Kona Brewing Company, Longboard Vineyards or Smart-Water.

Next, it’s a feast for the eyes as you marvel at the opening of 2 new exhibits: “The Need for Speed: Downhill Skateboarding at Signal Hill” and “A Brief History of Surfboards”.

As your mind attempts to take it all in, you can “talk story” with 1960s International Surfing Champion Paul Strauch, downhill 1970s legendary skateboarder John Hughes, San Onofre Surfing Queen Eve Fletcher, surf industry veteran Royce Cansler and many other VIP surf guests and legends.

Renowned artist Wade Koniakowsky will be adding to the excitement and fun while painting an item LIVE at our Gala to donate to our auctions. Yes, our Gala once again will feature and give you an opportunity to bid and win many one-of-a-kind items at both our live and silent auctions this magical evening.

As you make your way back to our Secret Spot Stage for our live auction, you’ll enjoy the Surf-Jazz sounds of Cross-Step. With something for everyone, you too can be a part of “Surf History” by your attendance and generous support.

Dress Aloha Casual or Surfer Chic and bring your smile. It will truly be a night to remember.

As always, all funds raised will go toward perpetuating the continuing work of chronicling and preserving our rich surfing culture and history.
