Zumiez beats sales estimates – again

Zumiez – once again – zoomed past same store sales estimates for May with the key metric rising 13.7%.

In May of 2011, same store sales rose 7.8%.

Comps per week were:

1. +16.1%

2. +15.2%

3. +9%

4. +14.6%

Dollars per transaction rose while the number of transactions also rose slightly.

Strong categories included men’s, footwear, junior’s, accessories and hardgoods.

Boys was the only category that posted a negative comp.

Year to date, Zumiez same store sales are up 13.1%.

As of May 26, Zumiez operated 459 stores.
