Launching on newsstands July 15, FOAM magazine’s August/September 2012 issue is the debut edition under the direction of new Editor-in-Chief Sari Anne Tuschman, who joined Madavor Media this spring. The issue, which is themed “Road Trippin,’” brings several new fashion-industry boldface names into the FOAM mix.

Model-turned-movie-and-TV-star Jaime King graces the cover of the issue and is featured in an eight-page fashion spread featuring celebrity styling duo Emily Current and Meritt Elliott as the stylists. Another stunning feature, entitled “Wild Thing,” features this season’s most jaw-dropping denim paired with statement-making jewelry from LA’s iconic Roseark lifestyle gallery. The store’s co-owner, Kathy Rose—whose own line of jewelry has graced countless Hollywood A-listers—styled the shoot and now serves as the magazine’s accessories editor.

Additionally, respected fashion-industry writers including former Los Angeles Times style editor and author of City of Style Melissa Magsaysay and Style Section L.A. founder Erin Weinger contributed to the magazine as well. And Heidi Merrrick, fashion designer and daughter of legendary surfer Al Merrick, has been named the magazine’s Editor-at-Large. “We are so proud of the way this issue turned out,” says Tuschman. “It has been exciting to get to explore everything that being a FOAM girl means and trying to express that through incredible fashion, interesting profiles and exciting stories. And to be able to work with some of my favorite writers, stylists and influencers has made the journey even that more exciting. I can’t wait to continue to grow and evolve the FOAM brand.”

With this issue hitting newsstands, FOAM also debuts a new editorial team. Kathryn Romeyn, cofounder of BeautyBender.com and former Deputy Editor of Los Angeles Confidential, has joined the staff as Senior Editor. Says Romeyn, “I couldn’t be happier to join the amazingly talented team at FOAM—a magazine I’ve long found beautiful, visionary, relatable, and most of all utterly inspiring. As a total FOAM girl at heart, I’m thrilled to start this exciting journey!”

Former FOAM senior editor Johnie Gall has been named FOAM’s Online Editor, a position that allows her to focus even more on an area she has already significantly grown in the last year. Gall will continue to develop and grow the magazine’s social media and online presence, while also serving as an East Coast contributor. “I’m excited to be able to focus all of my energy on continuing to grow FOAM’s many online platforms,” says Gall. “We’ve seen tremendous growth in our loyal fan base by increasing coverage of fashion, ocean, art and music on our website and through social media over the last year. I love that there’s no limit to how far FOAM can reach online!”

Of the editorial staffing changes, FOAM’s Director of Sales & Marketing, Jody Schmauss adds, “I’m very excited to welcome both Sari and Kathryn to the FOAM team. They both are extremely qualified, passionate and dedicated editors. FOAM thrives on progression and change, and I’m thrilled to see what they bring.”
