2019 marks the 3rd year of the Life Is Better When You Surf ®Scholarship Program from Global Surf Industries. To date GSI has awarded 65 scholarships to students in USA, Costa Rica, Australia and New Zealand. Each Scholarship recipient is awarded $1000* and 2 free surfboards.
The aim of the Life Is Better When You Surf® Scholarship Program is to highlight the positive values of surfing for physical, mental and social wellbeing, as well as promoting the importance of education. Applicants don’t have to be superheroes or competitive rippers, just love surfing, appreciate their education and contribute to their community.
Applications will be open August 3 – September 29, 2019 for USA students aged 12-15 years old to send in submissions for the opportunity for one of 15 Scholarships of $1000 towards educational expenses and 2 new surfboards from Global Surf Industries.
The criteria is pretty simple –
1.   12 – 15 years old USA Citizen (any gender)
2.   Loves surfing (doesn’t have to be a competitive shredder)
3. Â Â Applies themselves at school (appreciates the importance of education for their future)
4.   Contributes to their community (through volunteering, beach clean ups, fundraising, helping others in some way)
