Jams World, the multi-generational, Made in Hawaii clothing company, has partnered with Pali Momi Medical Center to participate in National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For the second year a limited edition ‘Akala(Pink) Collection will be released September 16, 2019 and 20% of the proceeds will benefit the Hawai‘i Pacific Health Cancer Center at Pali Momi Medical Center. It is the first integrated center of its kind serving Central and West Oahu and the only program in the area nationally accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. Designed with the patient experience in mind, the center offers physician consultations, infusion therapy, cancer navigation services and more, including radiation oncology through a collaboration with the Cancer Center of Hawaii.
The 2019 ‘Akala(Pink) Collection features nine women’s apparel styles, a men’s Retro shirt, mermaid dolls, candles and diffusers in limited edition Jams World “Calidora Palm”, an original hand-painted piece of art. Tropical florals, lush palm leaves, and various pink shades make this piece of art unique and beautiful. “I felt the various shades of pink in this piece of art would enable us to tell a story with this collection as well as bring awareness to the various types of cancer. In our Calidora Palm pieces each shade of pink represents the different types of cancer and the different patients this disease affects.” said Pua Rochlen, Jams World President. “We will also continue our 2019 ‘Akala(Pink) Collection in Spring of 2020 with a swimsuit release in our “Calidora Palm” artwork. For Jams World and myself this is a year round commitment.”
“We are very grateful to Jams World for their continued support of Pali Momi Medical Center and our patients,” said Gidget Ruscetta, chief operating officer of Pali Momi Medical Center. “This partnership has provided Pali Momi with additional resources to purchase medical equipment and provide support services for our patients, ensuring quality cancer care is available close to home for those in our Central and West O‘ahu communities.”
