The first Wavegarden Cove in America will be open in Praia da Grama, located 60 miles from São Paulo, on July 1. Built in partnership with KSM Realty, the world-class waves and palm-fringed white sandy beach is at the centerpiece of the Fazenda da Grama private residential complex and sets a new benchmark for how Wavegarden technology can add value in the realtor sector.
With 52 modules this is the second-largest Wavegarden Cove in the world and offers more than 20 different types of waves designed for all levels and ages. No wonder then that a clutch of Brazil’s best surfers, and some international guests, traveled to Praia da Grama to test drive Wavegarden’s latest offering.
Championship Tour athletes Ciao Ibelli, Deivid Silva, Miguel Pupo, Ian Gouveia, and Alex Ribeiro were joined by Brazilian champion Julia Santos and upcoming stars Sammy Pupo, Mateus Herdy, Victor Bernando, João Chumbinho, plus USA’s Cam Richards. All spent multiple days surfing every wave on the menu: Turns 1-3, Barrels 1-4, plus time with their families on the beginner Waikiki and Malibu settings. The new air section, which uses three-wave sets on both the right and left simultaneously, is another brand new feature.
