Tactics is proud to launch two new 3-Layer Polartec® NeoShell® outerwear garments for the Winter 2023 season. The Cascadia Collection is Tactics’ endeavor to create durable garments with reduced environmental impact. Rather than process a bunch of plastic bottles and treat them with psycho chemicals, Tactics searches for overstock fabrics which would otherwise be waste. These are beautiful textiles which hide in warehouses, waiting to become your next sartorial multitool. This season’s garments are built with fabrics from the iconic fabric manufacturer, Polartec®. The goal is to create timeless, durable, multi-function garments which people can enjoy for a long time.
“Though we are huge fans of hyper-tech garments, we do not agree with their perceived necessity to go outside in the winter. The consumption-based narrative that the $500 jacket you bought last year is obsolete is lame. You don’t need a new XYZ just to go slide around on some snow, or ride your bike in the rain.” Says Joe Torsey, Brand Product Manager at Tactics. “However, breathability and waterproofing are important to us, so we worked with Polartec® to source overstock NeoShell® 3L fabric. Zipper function is important to us, so we got them from YKK®. Enabling people to enjoy the great PNW without going broke is important to us, so we didn’t add a bunch of frivolous details and didn’t have to charge a million dollars for a decent garment.”
