From 6 PM – 9 PM on Friday, April 28, Duke’s La Jolla, located at 1216 Prospect Street, La Jolla, CA 92037, will host a special ticked event from 6-9 PM to raise funds for a local nonprofit organization, Urban Surf 4 Kids. Proceeds will support summer surf therapy camps for kids living in foster care.
This 15 Year Anniversary party was the heartfelt idea of former General Manager, Shaughn Hellier, who unexpectedly passed away last month due to a tragic accident. A longtime champion of Urban Surf 4 Kids, Hellier’s legacy will be celebrated with a special Shaughn Hellier Award of Excellence honoring an extraordinary youth volunteer at Urban Surf 4 Kids. The event will also feature a silent auction with prizes that include a Firewire Surfboard, Legendary Gerry Lopez autographed book, artwork by World Renown Artist and Photographer Aaron Chang, luxury trips by Inspirato and free giveaways throughout the night.
Tickets for the event are available at US4K.org for $125. Urban Surf 4 Kids offers 10 surf therapy camps this year in La Jolla Shores, Carlsbad, and Huntington Beach, positively impacting 500 southern California youth ages 3-18 who are healing from trauma due to abuse and neglect.
Urban Surf 4 Kids is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides surf therapy, mentoring and life-skills achievement programs for foster and at-risk youth who are survivors of abuse, neglect, and abandonment.
