9NEWS and the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation announced Shawn Neville, CEO of BOA Technology, makers of the BOA® Fit System, as the 2025 9NEWS Leader of the Year. Neville received the prestigious recognition for his outstanding commitment to community service and leadership in connecting business with social impact.

“Shawn has worked to connect young people with education, career paths, and outdoor experiences, inspiring businesses, and communities to join in fostering inclusivity and unlocking potential,” according to the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce Leadership Foundation. “Today, as the CEO of BOA Technology, he leads initiatives like the Career Possibilities program, which builds bridges for students by partnering with organizations like the Denver Scholarship Foundation to, as they say at BOA, ‘enable peak performance’ for the next generation.”

Neville’s approach to leadership has been shaped by decades of community service, including his extensive involvement with Big Brothers Big Sisters, where he has served on the National Board of Directors, as well as on the boards of Boston Scholars, Mass Bay Big Brothers, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado, and the University of Denver Business School Advisory Board.

Elycia Cook, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters Colorado, shared her personal experience with Neville: “His passion for the mission, authentic encouragement, and unwavering support gave me the confidence to move forward in the interview process of becoming the first CEO of color in BBBS’ 104-year history. He helped me feel seen, valued, and inspired. Shawn and the entire BOA team have been an extraordinary gift to our mission, our youth, and our leadership team. No one is more deserving of this honor.”

Under Neville’s guidance, BOA Technology has implemented a values-driven approach that focuses on “trusting and caring for each other, our partners, our community, and our planet.” This philosophy has transformed the company’s business practices and expanded its positive impact throughout the Denver community.

His passion for empowering youth extends through the company’s involvement with initiatives like the Chill Foundation, programs that bridge gaps in STEM education and outdoor activities, and more, with a nearly 90% employee volunteer participation rate. Neville’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion focuses on building a culture that inspires young people from all backgrounds. He believes in listening and fostering environments that spark potential, particularly for first-generation students and underrepresented groups.

The 9NEWS Leader of the Year award has recognized outstanding leaders passionate about making a difference in Colorado for more than 26 years. Visit BOAFit.com to view the newly released BOA 2025 impact report and hear Neville reflect on the company’s approach to social responsibility.
