USA Skateboarding is thrilled to announce the launch of the USA Skateboarding Amateur Series in 2025. Together with The Berrics, amateur skateboarding’s spotlight will be bigger, better, and more inclusive than ever—with more regions, more divisions, more visibility, and the largest amateur prize money ever offered.
“When I was coming up as an amateur, the quickest way of grabbing people’s attention was through these highly organized, very important amateur competitions. They opened my eyes to the way other people across the country skated, built character, and created lifelong friendships. They didn’t only give me the tools to turn pro, they gave my sponsors the confidence in me to turn me pro. My life changed drastically over the course of one summer break. I am hoping to see these events do the same for the next generation of skateboarders.” — Eric Koston
This newly reimagined national series will feature sanctioned regional contests across four key zones—East, Midwest, West, and Online—culminating in the highly anticipated USA Skateboarding Amateur National Championships in 2025.
“Amateur skateboarding is the heart and the future of our culture,” said Johnny Schillereff, CEO of USA Skateboarding. “We’re committed to building a clear and inspiring path for skaters across the country. The USA Skateboarding Amateur Series builds community and provides a vital and positive platform for all skateboarders to be recognized, compete, and ultimately shine on the world stage.”
All events in the USA Skateboarding Amateur Series are officially sanctioned by USA Skateboarding, ensuring standardized judging, eligibility, safety, and competition guidelines across the country. Skaters will compete to earn points at each stop, with top scorers advancing to the Amateur National Championships. Stay tuned for the official schedule—dates coming soon!
“There is no doubt skateboarding is on the precipice of big change. A new, sanctioned body of competition for skateboarding’s next golden era is both exciting and undoubtedly worthy of our full support.”
