In 2007, Oboz began planting trees for each pair of shoes sold. This month, the Bozeman-based hiking footwear brand surpassed the 7 million mark for tree plantings as part of its One More Tree Program in partnership with Trees for the Future (TREES) and veritree.

veritree plants trees on behalf of Oboz across wildfire-impacted regions in Oregon and British Columbia. Their platform uses modern technology to track and verify each planting session and monitor survivability. Through on the ground technology they can monitor the environmental progress and the benefits of the reforestation efforts. Their online portal allows partners and consumers to review the program’s progress and explore its impact.
TREES conducts its work through locally-led projects across sub-Saharan Africa using a data-driven and science-backed regenerative agroforestry method called the Forest Garden Approach. This approach impacts not only the local and global environment, but also biodiversity, income, and food security. TREES centers farmers and communities in every step of the process, ensuring that restoration is sustainable, equitable, and built to last.
