Outdoor Research announced President Roger Barton will leave the Seattle-based company after eight years of service.
“Roger came to Outdoor Research at a pivotal moment and helped shape the brand into what it is today, instilling not only operational excellence but also serving as a strong steward of the brand,” said Michelle Wardian, a member of the Outdoor Research board of directors, in a statement. “His leadership, integrity, and genuine care for this team leave a lasting impression on our culture and our company. We are grateful for everything he has contributed and wish him well in what comes next.”
Barton joined Outdoor Research in 2018, initially leading finance and operations, before becoming president in 2020.
During his tenure, he helped steer the brand through significant challenges.
“Working with this brand and this team has truly been one of the highlights of my career,” said Barton in a statement. “The progress over the past eight years is something we should all be very proud of. I am confident in this team’s ability to further grow the brand, and I will be rooting for them every step of the way.”
Outdoor Research’s board of directors will now embark on a search for the company’s next president.
