California based clothing company RVCA will cement a longstanding relationship with New York skateshop KCDC with an expanded partnership that begins in February. RVCA will be involved in a full remodel of KCDC that will both update the iconic store and create a RVCA-branded presence in the space.
As part of the redesign, RVCA will transform the back of the store into an area that will be used as both gallery and special project showcase. “RVCA celebrates creativity through its relationship with artists and the Artist Network Program. We plan to bring our brand to the New York community through bi-monthly art shows with ANP and local artists and be closely involved with local KCDC events throughout the partnership” says Brian Cassaro of RVCA Marketing “And it will give us a home for RVCA so that our fans in NY will have a place to shop and be immersed in the brand.”
To kick off the collaboration on February 14th, KCDC will host Skate Night at Rough Trade at 64 N. 9th Street in Brooklyn, NY. This event will feature a mini ramp jam, giveaways, ping pong, and a special appearance by RVCA team riders Andrew Reynolds, Curren Caples, Kevin “Spanky” Long, and Mark Suciu.
KCDC will celebrate its re-opening on Thursday, February 15th with a series of collaborative graphics, an art install and a neon sign in the store created by Brooklyn ANP artist, Stephen “ESPO” Powers. ESPO’s artwork will kick off the first RVCA X KCDC ANP collaboration and will be available in store and online at RVCA.COM and at KCDCSKATESHOP.COM.

In the fall of 2001 KCDC opened its doors to the community of Williamsburg, and its powder keg of a skateboarding scene.
