Jack’s Surfboards won the West qualifier of Surfer Magazine’s Oakley Surf Shop Challenge.

Surf Shops from Orange County and Los Angeles got together Friday in 2-4 ft peaky conditions at 54th st in Newport Beach to battle for bragging rights and a spot in the National Championship.

Teams surfed, heckled and trash-talked their way through the heats of this tag team format surf contest.

When the dust settled it was the Jack’s four man team of pros John Florence and Shawn Ward along with shop employees Bobby Okvist and Clay Crandal that made the best use of the skatepark-like wave conditions to win in a very tight final.
