BURLINGTON, VT (March 20, 2012) It’s official – the first day of spring is here, and so is Burton’s new 2012 Spring/Summer collection, available now in select stores and online. With temperatures rising, it’s the perfect time to check out Burton’s brand new line of tees, tanks, technical apparel, accessories, packs and travel bags – all designed with warm weather in mind.

“Snowboarding is a lifestyle for me, and that lifestyle doesn’t end when winter does,” said Burton pro snowboarder Kimmy Fasani.

“That’s why Burton’s 2012 Spring/Summer line is perfect for warmer days both on and off the hill. I definitely have a few favorites in the line, like the Hendrix Jacket, Henley Tank and the Gibson Twill Pant. And I’ll admit I’m pretty obsessed with the Spring/Summer colors of the travel bags – the new plaids and prints are so fresh.”

At the core of Burton’s 2012 Spring/Summer line are the transitional outerwear pieces – super lightweight jackets designed for the warm, wet spring season. Backed by the weather-proofing technology that Burton is known for, these jackets feature technical materials like a 2.5-layer ultra-light DRYRIDE Durashell™AirTech® fabric. Burton’s transitional outerwear jackets also bridge the gap between snow and street style and are now available for men, women and youth.

In addition to transitional outerwear pieces, Burton’s 2012 Spring/Summer line offers a full line-up of summer flannels, hoodies, crews, tees and tanks, as well as a selection of bottoms for both men and women.

What makes Burton’s apparel line stand out is that many styles feature technical attributes, such as DRYRIDE Ultrawick™ stretch jersey fabric that breathes easy and dries quickly (unlike cotton). And because spring and summer are all about road trips, Burton also offers a fresh line of packs, travel bags and B.Y.O. bags that double as coolers.

Finally, to get everyone in the mood for spring, Burton just launched ‘Winning’s a Trip’, a ‘text-to-win’ contest where one grand prize winner and a friend will score a trip to the Frendly Gathering, a visit to Burton Headquarters in Vermont and a stash of Burton 2012 Spring/Summer goods. Entering the contest is easy for everyone: simply textTRIP to the number 24036 to get in the game.
