ALISO VIEJO, Calif. (April 10, 2012) – Registration is now open for Visual Merchandising and Retail Marketing Boot Camp, presented by the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association (SIMA).
The event will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point, Calif. Visual Merchandising and Retail Marketing Boot Camp will take an in-depth look at technology and the evolution of the in-store experience.
“In-store marketing has become a driving force in supporting retailers and connecting action sports consumers with our brands, so the timing for this SIMA Boot Camp is ideal,” said Doug Palladini, SIMA President and Vans’ Vice President of Marketing.
“Learning from some of retail technology’s brightest minds on what the next generation of the action sports shop experience might look like is something brands and retailers of all sizes cannot afford to miss.”
Representatives from some of the leading creative agencies in the interactive retail landscape will share three case studies and interact in a candid panel discussion, sharing how they engage consumers in forming real brand relationships.
The three case study panelists have been featured at SXSW and include: Tim Austin / Chief Creative Officer, TPN; John Crooke / Vice President of Creative, PlayNetwork, and Jeff Whitney / Creative Director, JUXT Interactive.
In the ever-evolving world of retail, technology is now a key ingredient being used both in and out of stores to draw the consumers closer to identifying with the brands and products at retail.
Each panelist’s case study will detail the successes and challenges of holding onto the attention of consumers in the retail sector through the use of product display, smartphones and technology inside and outside the shop.
The half-day event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and, in addition to the panel discussion and seminar, features a group breakfast and valuable networking time. All levels of employees from any department who would benefit from the panel discussion, seminar and industry networking time arehighly encouraged to report for duty.
