Alterra Mountain Company has named Kelly Vohs Chief Executive Officer, effective Oct. 19. The company announced the appointment Monday as its mountain resorts prepare to open for the 2026/27 winter season.
Vohs brings nearly 30 years of experience leading operationally complex businesses that serve customers directly, across hospitality, real estate and technology.
He previously led companies within Blackstone’s portfolio, including LivCor, the operating platform for Blackstone’s national multifamily portfolio of more than 500 properties, where he served as Chief Executive Officer. He also served as Chief Executive Officer of Beam Living, which operates 15,000 New York City apartments on behalf of Blackstone, including StuyTown.
Vohs most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of SafetyCulture, a global frontline operations platform used by more than 85,000 organizations and supporting more than 2.5 million frontline workers.
Earlier in his career, Vohs led operations for BR Guest Hospitality, a New York restaurant group with more than 20 restaurants. He also held leadership roles at several hotels, including General Manager of the Boca Raton Resort & Club and the Waldorf Astoria Chicago, and opening General Manager of the Conrad Chicago.
Vohs served eight years as a Green Beret with the U.S. Army’s 10th Special Forces Group at Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, completing four combat deployments.

“Some of the best days I’ve ever had have been on a mountain,” Vohs said in a statement. “I’m excited to come back to Colorado and help the Alterra Mountain Company team create those days for millions of guests.”
“My first job was in a restaurant kitchen, so I know this is a team sport,” Vohs said.
Alterra operates Ikon Pass, which offers access to more than 70 mountain destinations worldwide. Its resort portfolio includes Steamboat, Palisades Tahoe, Mammoth Mountain, Tremblant and Deer Valley Resort, along with CMH Heli-Skiing & Summer Adventures and Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing in British Columbia.
