Sports and outdoor equipment distributor Canadawide Sports acquired Vancouver-based G3 Genuine Guide Gear (G3) earlier this month with plans to revitalize the backcountry skiiing and snowboarding brand after it hit financial challenges earlier this year.
Founded more than 20 years ago and respected in the backcountry ski community, G3 stopped taking orders last summer and went into receivership. As part of the Canadawise Sports portfolio, G3 will have access to more resources and will be able to prioritize innovation, service and community engagement, according to a press release.
“Bringing G3 into the Canadawide Sports portfolio is a natural alignment of our values and our passion for supporting outdoor pursuits,” said Shawn Fuller, president of Canadawide Sports, in a statement. “We are proud to champion the G3 brand and look forward to building upon its legacy by delivering innovative, high-quality products that backcountry enthusiasts trust and rely on.”
Canadawide Sports is a distributor for Reebok, Slazenger, Prince, and more.
