Burton Evolves its Marketing and Product Creative Functions

Burlington, VT (March 17, 2017) Burton today announced that it is making exciting changes around how the company executes its creative marketing and product functions.

Longtime Burton Chief Creative Officer, Greg Dacyshyn, has decided to venture out on his own after more than two decades at Burton to start his own creative agency called ‘Camp High’. From the helm of his new agency, Greg will continue to set the creative direction for Burton product and marketing, working closely with Burton’s Founder and Chairman, Jake Burton and the key in-house leaders. He’ll also take on new clients in outside industries.

While at Burton, Greg forged key partnerships in fashion, arts, entertainment and sports, including recent collaborations with Danner Boots, Led Zeppelin, Neighborhood Japan, Muhammad Ali, Playboy and ongoing collections with Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B. label, as well as past projects with Paul Smith, Hiroshi Fujiwara, AMG/Mercedes, C.F. Martin & Co. and the Andy Warhol Foundation. These relationships will serve him well as he sets out to establish Camp High, and will also bring new and fresh inspiration back to the Burton brand.

In house at Burton, VP of Global Product, Chris Cunningham, will continue to lead all product categories in both softgoods and hardgoods, and Chief Marketing Officer Anne-Marie Dacyshyn will continue to oversee all facets of Global Marketing. Both will have ultimate responsibility to set priorities for their respective areas, to lead the global work of their teams and to make final decisions about Burton’s strategic and creative direction.

Jake Burton, Founder and Chairman of Burton Snowboards had this to say about the news: “Greg has been with me and Burton for over 20 years. In that time, he worked his way up from an entry-level position to Chief Creative Officer. He ultimately assumed responsibility for the look and feel of every product and marketing piece in our line. He has always delivered a creative look that I have been comfortable with and (more importantly) that has been well received in the market. Under this new structure, Greg will continue to have the impact that he has had in the past while giving our VP of Product, Chris Cunningham and our Chief Marketing Officer, Anne-Marie Dacyshyn, the opportunity to execute and assume direct and complete responsibility for our product and marketing.”

As for Greg, he’s also looking forward to the next chapter. “After more than 20 years of working exclusively with Burton, I’m super excited to start my own agency Camp High,” stated Greg. “I’ve always loved collaborating with other designers, artists and brands, and to be able to do more of that while continuing to work alongside Jake and provide creative direction to Burton is an amazing opportunity.”
