A revamped Surf Summit attracted a large group of attendees, including a big showing of retailers.

Highlights included Mike D of the Beastie Boys, who spoke on Thursday night on the beach during a party sponsored by PTTOW.

Thursday’s seminars featured a presentation of SIMA’s rebrand from the Marketing and Communications Committee Chairman, Eric Crane, plus an update on SIMA from President Kelly Gibson and Not Impossible’s Mick Ebeling. 

The final night’s Closing Ceremonies included a dinner sponsored by Surf Expo along with Pat Parnell sitting down with CJ Hobgood and Gavin Beschen. 

SIMA pushed back the seminar start times to 2 p.m. this year, which gave attendees more time to surf, golf, fish and enjoy Cabo.
