Quick Takes:
- OneTurn expands its distribution platform with a three-brand skate footwear push in EMEA.
- OneTurn will handle wholesale, DTC, regional marketing and more for the brands, while Nidecker maintains brand ownership.
- Beyond shoes, OneTurn will also help build out apparel for the skate labels as part of its regional growth plan.
The Nidecker Group has appointed OneTurn as its lead distribution and regional operations partner for the skateboarding brands etnies, éS and Emerica across the EMEA region, the company announced Wednesday.
Under the agreement, OneTurn will oversee wholesale operations, e-commerce, regional marketing and apparel development for the three brands. The brands remain owned by the Nidecker Group.
OneTurn is headquartered in Anglet, France, and was founded by Joost Grootswagers and Antoine Lanusse, both veterans of the European action sports industry. The two previously served as CEO and COO, respectively, of Liberated Brands Europe, overseeing the Volcom business in the region. In 2025, they formed OneTurn to acquire the former Liberated Brands European operations and license Volcom and Spyder in the region. OneTurn currently manages the European business for Volcom, Spyder and Aspen Collection, and brings together more than 200 specialists across sales, marketing, logistics, retail, digital and finance.
The Nidecker Group, a family-owned Swiss company founded in 1887 and led by brothers Henry, Xavier and Cedric Nidecker, acquired etnies, éS, Emerica and ThirtyTwo from Sole Technology founder Pierre-Andre Senizergues in 2024. The brands are part of Nidecker’s global boardsports portfolio, which also includes Nidecker, Jones, Rome and Bataleon.
Through the new partnership, OneTurn will work to strengthen relationships with wholesale partners, expand direct-to-consumer channels and build regional marketing and apparel initiatives for the former Sole Tech skate brands across EMEA. The partnership launches through Fall 2026 deliveries and continues into the Spring 2027 pre-order season.
“These brands sit at the heart of skate footwear, and we are deeply committed to building them for the long term,” the Nidecker brothers said in a statement. “Our partnership with OneTurn sharpens that focus, allowing us to lead product and global marketing, while OneTurn drives accelerated growth across the EMEA region.”
Grootswagers said the brands fit naturally within OneTurn’s existing portfolio.
“These are authentic skate brands with real heritage,” Grootswagers said in a statement. “Our priority is to support retailers, strengthen local market execution and build long-term relevance for the brands across Europe.”
Senizergues, who founded etnies in 1986, expressed confidence in the new arrangement.
“With his deep knowledge of the brands, the market, and the culture of skateboarding, I believe Joost is well positioned to guide etnies, éS and Emerica successfully in the EMEA region,” Senizergues said in a statement. “This partnership ensures continuity and confidence for retailers, partners, and consumers, while staying true to the skateboarding heritage that has defined these brands from the beginning.”
