Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) is thrilled to announce its upcoming 18th Annual Skate the Coast presented by LivOn Labs on October 25th and 26th in Los Angeles, CA. The 15-mile skate-bike-roll taking place on Sunday, October 26th from Santa Monica Pier to Dive N’ Surf in Redondo Beach will support B4BC’s mission of early detection + a healthy, active lifestyle as the best means of breast cancer prevention. On the day before, there will be a registration party at the Yeti store in El Segundo at The Point for participants to get together and get hyped for the ride ahead.
October 25th Registration Party
This special weekend kicks off with a registration party at the Yeti store in El Segundo at The Point from 10 am – 3 pm. Registrants and community members are invited to come out, grab their goodie bags, partake in breast health education and enter in exciting raffles and auctions in anticipation of the push for prevention the next day. Attendees can also enjoy live music, LivOn Labs samples, cold drinks and time to connect with fellow participants and friends. On that same day, there will be a Sun & Sea Halloween pop-up at The Point with over 30 local vendors and fun family-friendly activities to enjoy alongside the Skate the Coast registration party.
October 26th Skate-Bike-Roll
On Sunday, October 26th riders will rise and get ready to shine at 7 am as they meet B4BC at Dive N Surf at Redondo Beach, where they’ll load up and assemble at the Skate the Coast start line at Santa Monica Pier. At 9 am, participants will take off, rocking their event tees and painting the Southern California Strand pink, spreading breast cancer awareness throughout the community. There will be four hydration stops sprinkled throughout the course, with the first located at Arbor Venice, second at Marina Del Rey Parking Lot #5, third at Dockweiler State Beach and the last at Noble Park in Hermosa Beach where they can refuel and replenish with snacks, water and electrolytes. Skaters will then make their way to the finish line at Dive N Surf in Redondo Beach, where they will be met with a finish line party from 12 pm -4 pm to commemorate the 15-mile feat and support for B4BC’s education, prevention and survivorship programs. They’ll get to cool off with tasty beverages such as Capacity NA beers and Daily Serve dinks and munch on some Wahoo’s Fish Tacos as they listen to some live music, raise a toast to the top Skate the Coast fundraisers at the award ceremony, and see if they are a lucky winner of fantastic partner prizes up for grabs in the raffle and silent auction.
Registration for Skate the Coast is a $50 donation and includes an event tee, a goodie bag and raffle tickets for a chance to win incredible partner prizes. For every $100 raised, participants will earn an extra 10 raffle tickets. Prizes will also be awarded to the top three fundraisers for both individuals and teams. A virtual participation option is also available for those who can’t join in person. Virtual participants just need to register, cruise a local trail or path and post a picture to social media with the tags @b4bc and #skatethecoast to be entered into a photo contest. The winner of the photo contest will be announced on Monday, October 27th.
