The 34th annual Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships announce a comprehensive programming schedule including six hours of programming on FS2, all final events streaming on Red Bull TV, plus four full days of live webcasts on BurtonUSOpen.com. This packed schedule of TV broadcasts and online webcasts will feature all the action of the world’s top professional snowboarders including Shaun White (USA), Taku Hiraoka (JPN), Kelly Clark (USA), Chloe Kim (USA), and Yuki Kadono (JPN) competing in the premier event of the competitive snowboarding season.
Programming on the BurtonUSOpen.com live webcast will include complete coverage of the men’s and women’s slopestyle and halfpipe semi-finals as the field of competitors is narrowed down to the top 10 male riders and top 6 female riders in each discipline. Semi-finals coverage begins with women’s slopestyle semi-finals on Wednesday, March 2nd at 11:45am EST followed by men’s slopestyle semi-finals at 2:15pm EST. Thursday’s schedule features women’s halfpipe semi-finals at 11:45am EST followed by men’s halfpipe semi-finals at 2:15pm EST.
TV coverage kicks off from Vail Mountain’s Golden Peak on Friday, March 4th on FS2 with live women’s slopestyle finals at 1:30pm EST followed by two hours of men’s slopestyle finals airing at 8:00pm EST (live delayed). Coverage continues on Saturday, March 5th with men’s halfpipe finals live at 4:00pm EST followed by women’s halfpipe finals airing at 6:00pm EST (live delayed). The broadcast will include expert commentary by returning hosts Preston Strout and Craig McMorris, along with 1992 US Open halfpipe champion, Tricia Byrnes, providing additional insight on the women’s competitions. Finals will also air live locally on Vail’s TV8.
Live online coverage continues into Friday and Saturday’s main event finals on Red Bull TV and BurtonUSOpen.com. On Friday, March 4th, women’s slopestyle finals kick off at 1:00pm EST followed by men’s slopestyle finals starting at 3:45pm EST. The final day of competition on Saturday, March 5th features women’s halfpipe finals at 1:00pm EST, followed by men’s halfpipe finals at 3:45pm EST. The comprehensive livestream coverage will include insightful commentary by Snowboarder Magazine editor Tom Monterosso and BBC snowboarding host Ed Leigh along with professional snowboarder Jack Mitrani and Tina Dixon reporting from the field.
