Icebreaker Achieves Highest Plastic-Free Levels to Date: Transparency Report

Icebreaker just hit their highest plastic-free levels to-date.

In 2025, 98% of the fibers used across our collections were plastic-free —up from 97.5% in 2024. Merino wool remains at the center of our collections, representing 84.25% of the fibers used in 2025.

2025 Highlights:
  • 84.25% of fibers used are Merino wool
  • 93% of our merino wool is ZQ-certified & 81.2% of our merino wool was sourced from ZQRX farms in 2024–2025.
  • In 2025, icebreaker introduced the 75 Featherlight Tee (Women/Men – product samples available), our lightest next-to-skin layer made from 100% plastic-free fibres, offering a natural alternative in a synthetic-led industry and recognized with a 2024 ISPO Award.
  • Launched on World Repair Day 2025, the icebreaker Repair Station offers simple, practical guidance to help people mend, re-wear and extend the life of their layers, supporting a more natural, responsible way of caring for what we wear.
  • Through a partnership with Protect Our Winters, icebreaker released Downstream, a documentary that brought the story of glacier loss and its impact to global stages, helping carry the conversation about climate, nature and responsibility into spaces where it is rarely heard.
The 2025 Transparency Report will go live in icebreaker’s Transparency Hub on Earth Day.
