Oakley Eyewear have signed a partnership with the World Surf League (WSL) Australia that will see them become the Official Eyewear of the Australian Challenger Series (CS) events. The partnership will cover the opening two events of the CS season on the Gold Coast and at Manly Beach.
“Oakley has always been such a strong supporter of professional surfing and of the WSL and we genuinely appreciate this extended support into the two Australian based Challenger Series events in 2022,” said WSL Asia Pacific General Manager Andrew Stark. “After a hugely successful 2021 season, we’re expecting that the 2022 CS will be the most watched yet so it’s a fantastic time for Oakley to come onboard. It really solidifies the brand within the WSL landscape as they are already a major global partner of the Championship Tour. We can’t wait to watch this partnership expand and strengthen in 2022 and thank Oakley for their ongoing support.”
The partnership will see Oakley activate retail stores on site at both the Boost Mobile Gold Coast Pro presented by Rip Curl and the Sydney Surf Pro presented by Rip Curl in April 2022, the first two stops of the 2022 CS season. They will also be given premium onsite branding and dedicated media plan.
“Teaming up with The World Surf League is an honour for us and extending the partnership further to include the CS in Australia further supports our ambitions to give back to the surf community and partner with them to shape the future of Surf,” said an Oakley Team and Events Manager Beau Emerton. “We can’t wait to be on the ground at these key events, in prime surf locations, to support our athletes and inspire Australians to keep believing, to Be Who They Are.”
