Rusty Apparel launches Rusty Experimental Division (R.E.D.) in the U.S. March 19.

R.E.D. features future classics influenced by Rusty’s deep archival heritage pieces spanning all the way back to the late ’90s and 2000’s. Inspired by vintage shirts, low rise denim, wide leg jorts, graphic tanks, zip off cargo pants, and maxi skirts that scream R2K(Y2K).

R.E.D. was created out of the Rusty Australia headquarters with the realization that the surf market was not servicing that young, 18-year-old customer. Since then, Rusty has made a conscious effort in the last two years to really zero in on its target demographic of 16- to 25-year olds. The R.E.D. collection and what it represents is a vintage/thrifted aesthetic that Rusty apparel saw being adopted by the younger customer. The fits, graphics, and all silhouettes are unapologetically for the young surf customer.

A few R.E.D. hot pieces include the Flip Daddy 2.0 Jean Short “Jort” at $65, Transformer Ripstop Cargo Pant for $85 (a 2-4-1 pant/short combo), Celest low-rise Denim Maxi Denim Skirt at $70, and Norty Short Sleeve Skimmer Baby Tee for $28.

“We’ve pulled the best of the best from our 90’s and 2000’s archives so you can revive those Y2K outfits/memories,” said Ryan Warner, Rusty Apparel U.S. sales manager.

R.E.D. launches online in the U.S. on March 19 at https://us.rusty.com and will be available at select retailers April 1.

About Rusty Apparel

Rusty is an alternative surf lifestyle brand that draws inspiration from local musicians, underground art and classic surf customs. The Rusty DNA was set in stone in the late 80’s from a shaping bay in Southern California – where the first Rdot was glassed into a freshly shaped board by Rusty Preisendorfer. The Rusty brand was born when likeminded people came together in pursuit of an ideology that meant something more. Creation, pride and resilience, and a mishmash of surfers, shapers, skaters, musician and artists, all vying for a shot to set the pace for the future. The Rusty Apparel mission has and will always be to produce the highest quality coastal surf apparel and accessories to customers around the globe. #ourkind
