Surfline today announced that it has introduced a new membership tier called Premium+. This will be the highest tier offered by Surfline, followed by Premium, and a limited, free membership. Premium+ members will have access to new, AI-powered features at select spots in the US, to help them plan surfs with more precision and confidence than ever before.
The new Premium+ features are all powered by Smart Cams, which use AI technology to track conditions and interpret data in near real-time. These features include Wave Timeline, Wave Distribution, Crowd, and Smart Clips.

Wave Timeline is a new tool that allows Premium+ members to quickly scrub through a bar graph that shows whether any waves broke or were ridden in a 20-minute period. This gives Premium+ members a snapshot of conditions so they can be more confident in their decision to go surfing or skip a session.
The Wave Distribution graph shows the total number of waves breaking at each surf height, and how many of those waves are ridden. Crowd forecasts whether the number of surfers in the water is expected to increase or decrease in the coming hours, based on the surf conditions and the spot’s historical crowd levels.
Smart Clips allows surfers to quickly navigate to ridden waves to find clips of themselves surfing. Premium+ members can also trim clips of their waves within the app and easily download them to send to friends or share on social media.
The new Premium+ membership is available in the US to web and iOS users. Surfers can try it out starting today with a 7-day free trial.
