(Carlsbad, CA)– May 21, 2015 – Reef, the global surf lifestyle leader, has brought a number of talented surfers still performing at top levels into the family as part of the Reef Sales force. Reef is pleased to announce big wave pioneer Rusty Long has come onboard as an independent Sales Rep for the Orange County territory.
Long will primarily focus on core Action Sports retailers in Orange County, bringing with him the highest level of cultural credibility, only surpassed by enthusiasm and passion for the sport. “I’m truly honored and grateful to join Reef and play an active role in representing this lifestyle we all love, and keep the brand momentum powering ahead,” says Rusty. “The authentic and stylish manner of Reef resonates perfectly with my ideals and I am so excited to be a conduit of this experience on the ground level while servicing my home region.”
Long has been pushing the limits of big wave surfing, unassisted by jet ski and paddling into waves, helping to reinvent the sport. He recently wrote The Finest Line, an insider’s look at the last 15 years of big-wave surfing.
Long joins a notable group of Reef Ambassadors, charging surfers who are integral parts of the Sales team with Southern California’s Mike Losness and Northern California’s Shawn Dollar.
Long will report to Mike Losness, the new Director of Field Sales – West. “I expect big things from Rusty and I’m confident he will bring a high level of service to the Orange County territory. He will provide an authentic experience and a well thought plan to further grow the Reef brand within the action sports channel of our business.”
