B-Corp outerwear brand, 66°North, have announced the appointment of Josefine Laigaard, as their Strategy and Business Development Director, with immediate effect, as the company continues to ramp up its expansion with the ambition of becoming the first truly global Icelandic brand.
Laigaard will play an integral role in the expansion plans, working in the brand’s new satellite head office in Copenhagen and working closely with the HQ in Reykjavik. Josefine holds vast strategic and commercial expertise within the fashion industry, most recently serving as CEO of the cult Danish new luxury brand SAKS POTTS, and prior to that as Head of Business Development at GANNI. She began her career as a fashion designer but has always been occupied with how to build and scale brands internationally, hence her transition into management consulting at Ernst & Young before re-joining the fashion industry. Josefine was announced as one of the Top 100 Business Talents in Denmark in 2021 due to her ambidextrous profile, and in 2023, she was elected as Young Female Board Talent by Board talent Denmark.
The announcement comes shortly after Jeppe Møller, was named Chief Commercial Officer at the brand in December last year, alongside further leadership hires within the wholesale team.
“I am very excited for Josefine to join the 66°North team, as our Global Business Development Director. She brings with her valuable international experience and strategic capabilities, which is essential for the next phase of our global expansion” comments Jeppe Møller, CCO at 66°North
66°North opened their European flagship store on Regent Street, London in November 2022, and now boasts 28 wholesale stockists globally, including world-renowned stores such as Selfridges, Harrods, END, Mr.Porter, KaDeWe, SSENSE, SneakersNStuff and Beaker. Kei Toyoshima was appointed Creative Director at the helm of the brand at the end of 2023 and will present his debut collection for AW24.
